Hospitals
The Lions Eye Bank of the Northeast has been successfully working with hospitals for over 70 years. We are always looking for ways to improve and strengthen this very valuable relationship. If you are interested in having an in-service or if you have questions about our hospital development efforts, please contact us.
Hospice
We understand this is a very difficult time for families. We work hard to ensure the final wishes of a patient through eye donation are met. We are here to answer any questions you may have.
Funeral Homes
One of our goals during the recovery process is to not interfere with funeral arrangements. It is very important for the Lions Eye Bank of the Northeast to work closely with our funeral home partners to reach this goal.
Surgeons
We take pride in understanding the needs of our surgeons. It is vital our staff recovers ocular tissue of the highest quality, allowing our surgeons to have a high transplant success rate.
Medical Director
Robert L. Schultze, MD Medical Director of the Lions Eye Bank of the Northeast
Dr. Schultze is recognized as a leading authority on cornea and refractive surgery and has been selected as one of only 50 U.S. surgeons to serve as a VISX and an IntraLase Trainer. As a result of his dedication to ophthalmology, Dr. Schultze has been recognized with a “Best of Show” award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as a “First Place” from the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery for his video productions demonstrating his techniques in advanced corneal surgery. Not only is Dr. Schultze amongst the nations leaders in ophthalmology, he has done outstanding work with care and compassion, bringing sight to the sightless.
